Description
Authors: Duke, Philip and Matlock, Gary
Publisher: University Press of Colorado (Boulder, CO)
Pub Date: 1999
Binding: Paperback
Condition: Fair. Binding tight. No tears, bends or folds. There’s a free-form pen mark on the upper rear cover near the spine head (doodle? accidental?). Light scuffing to front and rear covers. Appears unused.
Notes: The Animas River valley is probably one of the most underrated archaeological areas in the country. An hour from Mesa Verde, two hours from Chaco, Durango sits “…at the boundary between the Rocky Mountains and the desert…” (from the Introduction), at best a “marginal” environment. Arranged by era (Paleoindian, Archaic, through Historic). Includes sites within the Durango area boundaries.
