Condition: Poor. Upper front cover corner has an approx. 2″ bend, extends diminishing through first 50 pages. Smaller, approx. 1″ bend inside outer bend. Worn. Lower front cover corner has 2 bends, inner bend an approx. 1/8″ inside, outer bend approx. 1½”. Bend extends through at least the first half of the book. Previous owner’s blindstamp on lower front cover corner . Smudging to front cover and bottom text block. Edge and corner wear. The text is fine, but probably a reading copy at best.
Notes: AAA Memoir No. 82 (AKA SAA Memoir No. 10) Wheat’s revised Ph.D. dissertation (along with Crooked Ridge Village, University of Arizona Press, 1954). The Mogollon Culture Area Wheat describes extends from Forestdale south to San Simon in Arizona, and in New Mexico includes the Mimbres, Cibola and Jornada, with some outliers near the Pecos River. From the library of the late archaeologist E. Wyllys Andrews (1916-1971), his stamp on lower front cover.
