Notes: Fieldiana Anthropology Series Volume 59, Publication 1089.    From the library of the late archaeologist J.O. Brew, his signature on cover and page 81.  Kijik was inhabited by Athapaskan-speaking  Tanaina Indians, who relied on ocean-going salmon to develop a sedentary lifestyle based on a maritime economy.  The area occupied by the Tanaina forms an approximate horseshoe shape around Cook Inlet.
