Reports of the Awatovi Expedition, Report No. 7. “Twenty-one sites were excavated, entirely or in part, of which two gave extensive records of the Basket Maker III and Pueblo I periods, roughly A.D. 500 to 900. Jeddito 264…was the larges of these two…it contained houses and storage rooms which could be classified distinctly as Basket Maker III and Pueblo I, presented many facets of the transition between the two periods, and gave us a wealth of artifact material…” (From the Foreword by J.O. Brew). Daifuku later spent a long career with the United Nations and was the Chief of the Monuments and Sites Section of UNESCO for a number of years. A 1971 Kraus reprint edition of the original edition is also available.
