In 1772, four missions in San Antonio were transferred from one Mexican “diocese” to another, causing inventories of religious stuff to be transferred–church stuff (candles, hosts), vestments, tools, parish records, iconography, lists of parishioners (men, women, children, married, single), escapees (fugitives), farms and farm animals.
