Notes: Pamphlet. Homol’ovi is actually a collection of seven ancestral Hopi Pueblos, occupied between A.D. 1260-1400, though there is evidence of occupation as early as A.D. 620. The ruins are an important starting point for the modern katsina religion(s) of Hopi, Zuni, Acoma, and Laguna pueblos. Excellent introduction to not just Homol’ovi but the surrounding area (Winslow, Little Colorado river valley, Mormon settlements, railroad). Good archaeology, good history.
