Notes: Originally published in 1986.  “Before the Lake” gets  short shrift here (6 pages), while the “History Under Water” section takes precedence (117 pages).  Historical vignettes about dozens of places within the canyon, some submerged, some still above water (Defiance House, e.g.).  Lots of photos, black-and-white and color.  Maps, historical and modern.  Perhaps aimed at the Glen Canyon tourist trade.
