Notes:  A private archaeological survey conducted on the grounds of Bishop’s Lodge, a noted Santa Fe home and hotel.   The survey identified “7 sites and 41 isolated occurrences as well as previously known historic acacia and the late nineteenth-century chapel retreat…of Archbishop Jean Lamy.”  (From Project History, page 1).  Mostly lithic scatters, limited activity sites.  Lamy began acquiring portions of the property in 1853, naming it Villa Pintoresca.  It became Lamy’s home and chapel.  When Lamy died in 1889, the property passed to the Archbishopric of Santa Fe, who sold it to private interests.  It was a dairy farm in 1915, when Joseph Pulitzer (of prize fame) bought it, added buildings, and sold it in 1918 to James Thorpe,  a Denver mining magnate.  The Thorpe’s owned the property until 1998, and commissioned this survey, prior to selling the property to a hotel conglomerate.  VERY RARE.  NO other copies available for sale, and not held in any libraries.
