Notes:  A draft summary of 4 different plans for the future of Petroglyph National Monument.  Well illustrated.  “Four alternatives for future management and use of the newly established Petroglyph National Monument are analyzed in this document.”  (Page 1).  Petroglyph National Monument is the first national monument specifically set aside to protect ancient Native American petroglyphs and their setting.  Since its inception, the monument has been beset by problems, perhaps because of its urban location.  Incidents ranging from encroachment of sites not permitted for visitor use (off-trail), graffiti, damage to the petroglyphs themselves, and most notably, an overzealous park ranger tasing a Native American man in 2020 (see https://www.koat.com/article/park-ranger-caught-on-camera-tasing-native-american-man-for-hiking-off-trail/35092224 ).  (Lots of blame to go around there.)
