Notes: A preliminary study of an approx. 66 square mile, crescent-shaped area north of Chaco, proposed for development by two energy companies–think oil/natural gas and coal. 30% of the study area had been previously surveyed, yielding 33 archaeological sites and 39 “isolated occurrences.” “Significance of the archeological sites and historical localities is evaluated, based on the research potential, heritage value, and possible value to contemporary Navajos.” (From the Abstract)
