Basically a history of the early days of the Forest Service in the Southwest (Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado)–from the first generation of the days of Gifford Pinchot, through the “modern” (think “college educated”) service. Volume 1–letters, oral histories, documents, stories, reminiscences. Volume 2 is significantly shorter than Volume 1, but continues in the same vein–letters, oral histories, etc. Volume 3 consists of anecdotes (and some of these are funny as hell), plus indexes for all three volumes. Tucker served in the Forest Service for 32 years. VERY RARE AS A SET. No other copies available for sale. SOLD AS A SET ONLY.
