Notes: Cultural Resource Series No. 4.   Cultural resource inventories conducted on 2,981,000 acres of federal lands (1,499,000 BLM and 1,482,000 Forest Service) prior to the development of coal mining.  One percent survey yielded 348 cultural units (one percent of 2.9 mil = 29,800 acres with 348 units,  100% survey = approx 35000 units?  That’s an astounding/impossible number).
