Description

Author: Benson, Elizabeth P.  (1924-2018)

Publisher: University Press of Florida

Pub Date: 1997

Binding: Hardcover

Condition: Book: Fair.  Ex-library.  Binding tight.  No tears, bends or folds.  Library stamp on ffep.  Library anti-theft tag on front pastedown.  Library stamp on top text block.  Very light edge and corner wear.  Dust Jacket: Fair.  Library tags on upper front cover edge, mid-front cover, and spine foot.  Dust jacket in mylar, but the mylar has been taped to the front and rear boards.  The damn thing is sound as a dollar, but there’s no mistaking it for anything other than an ex-library book.

Notes: Animals in pre-Columbian art.  Practical, ritualistic and mythic uses.  Items from Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.  Monkeys and mice, snakes and seashells, foxes and fish, armadillos and oysters (okay, that one was a stretch).  These are a few of my favorite things.
