Condition: 2 copies.   Copy 1  (LC21): Fair.  Binding tight.  No tears.  Previous owner’s name in ink on upper front cover.  Lower front cover corner has approx. 1″ bend and subsequent wrinkling.  Lower rear cover corner has approx. 1″ bend which extends through about half of the text.  It was obviously dropped on that corner.  Smudging to bottom text block.  Errata slip laid in.  Copy 2  (JR): Fair.  Binding tight.  No marks, tears.  Upper front cover corner has two bends, exterior approx. 4″, interior approx. 2″.  That interior bend extends and diminishes through about half the volume.  Lower front cover corner has an approx. 1/8″ bend that extends through first 5 pages of front matter.  Lower front cover corner starting to bow.  Some scuffing to rear cover.

Notes:  One later reprint edition copy (1999), with the new cover art, not the standard bland ocher.  Aikens led two seasons of excavations at Hogup Cave in 1967 and 1968, and recovered almost 10,000 artifacts–bones, wood, hides, fibers, textiles, chipped stone, pottery, coprolites, hair, feathers, and fur–dating from 6400 B.C. to A.D. 1850.
