Condition: Book: Fair to Good. Binding tight. No tears, bends or folds. Black printing on white spine and gold filagree still really sharp, easily readable. Embossed front board. Previous owner’s stamp on ffep and bottom text block. Pencil markings on half-title page, and copyright page has hand-stamped statement of copyright, along with redaction of original copyright notification. Very unusual, that. Some smudging to bottom text block. Dust Jacket: Fair. NOT price clipped. One chip on upper rear cover edge, approx. 1″ x 1.25″, and one triangular chip missing from foot of spine. One approx. 1/2″ tear on upper front cover edge. A second previous owner’s (?) name hand written on upper rear cover edge. Edge and corner wear. Now in mylar.
Notes: From the Bering Straits to Greenland…some guys work the tropics, some guys don’t. Giddings was one of the discoverers of the Ipiutak settlement.
