Description

Author: Mera, H.P. (Harry Percival) (1875-1975)

Publisher: Laboratory of Anthropology

Pub Date: 1943

Binding: Paperback (plastic report cover)

Condition: Fair.  Clear plastic report cover with plastic stick binding.  Probably a mimeograph copy rather than a photocopy.  Text crisp.  Illustrations so-so.  Maps okay, other illustrations not so much.  May be a copy from a library volume (guess).

Notes: Samples from more than 400 middens, in the area bounded by the Texas-New Mexico state lines (east and south), west to the approximate route of the Jornada del Muerto, north to the Canadian River.  In Mera’s words, “…to present the evidence for a direct genetic relationship between the pottery types occurring in the region east of the Black-San Mateo-Magdalena ranges and those indigenous to the west of these uplifts.”
