Description
Author: Mindeleff, Victor (1860-1948)
Publisher: Smithsonian Institution
Pub Date: 1891
Binding: Hardcover
Condition: Fair to Good. This is a report excised from the Eighth Annual Report of the Bureau of American Ethnology, 1886-1887, that was falling apart and I had rebound with a new hardcover binding. Binding tight. No marks, tears, bends, folds. Includes 3 fold out diagrams of the pueblos, all of which were taped at their folds at sometime in the past. They’re brittle, but that’s age and thinness. The diagrams are in a new pocket at rear. Includes Index.
Notes: Rebinding of BAE report, originally published in 1891. “The present study of the architecture of Tusayan and Cibola embraces all of the inhabited pueblos of those provinces, and includes a number of the ruins traditionally connected with them….This study is designed to be followed by a similar study of two typical groups of ruins, viz, that of Canyon de Chelly, in northeastern Arizona, and that of the Chaco Canyon, of New Mexico…” (From the Introduction)
