Notes: “The army did not create the Bosque Redondo to punish the Navajos but rather to prevent these Indians from being exterminated by the New Mexican militia.” (read Kit Carson).  We’ve heard this line before–“We had to destroy the village in order to save it.”  Revisionist history.
