An Archaeologist Guide to Native American Use of Southwestern Plants

Sorry. I currently do not have another copy of this title. Please enter it on your wish list.

Author: Hiles, Harold T.  (1929-2006)

Publisher: Self-published

Pub Date: 1992

Binding: Paperback

Condition:  Good.  Binding tight.  No tears.  Signed by the author on title page.  One small approx. 1/4″ bend to lower front cover corner.  Some corner and edge wear.  Sunning to spine and spine edges.

Notes: Incredibly detailed, VERY RARE, often cited, badly edited.  A big, self-published (and undoubtedly self-edited  [Author’s for Authors, “This plant is very poison” are just two examples]) volume, listing 1459 plants through seven archaeological and ethnological time periods (42,000 BP to present), used by both historic and current Native American tribes.  In terms of rarity, I find only one other copy available for sale, and this is held in only 10 libraries.  My guess is this was a 50 copy print run, certainly no more than 100, but there is no statement of print run.
